VOID Protocol — Progress Update 2
The Void team has been working very hard to bring the core platform live to the community as soon as possible. There are still challenges in the road ahead, and we must do the necessary testing and audits in order to ensure that the platform has a smooth and safe launch.
We know we have been a bit sporadic with our progress updates. We’ve had our heads down in building mode, making slow and steady progress, so for us it feels like there is nothing major to share.
But without further ado, here is what we’ve been up to!
Development Progress
In the past month the team has expanded again, our developing team now consists of 2 back-end developers working mostly on our Rust Smart Contracts and we have 2 front-end developers building out the User Interface and piecing it all together.
The primary goal of our team growth is to ensure the timely delivery of the platform for the IDO, TGE and Launch, which are all scheduled for Q1 2022. We are very happy to announce that we are still on track to meet our schedule.
Our lead developer, Gungod, has taken major strides towards completing the required Zero-Knowledge proofs for securing deposits into the Void Anon Pools. Along with Nicehash, they have completed a good amount of other work on the smart contracts for the pools themselves, including the staking, reward logic and token structure.
Our frontend developer, Fonkey, has built out the entire UI and now has our new team member, assisting with some of the finer details. Some of the previously mentioned smart contracts have been integrated already, but there is still a bit of work to do with the integration.
UI Sneak peek?
For the UI to be completely built, of course that means that an initial design has been chosen. Many community members have been asking to see a sneak peek at the UI, so we are more than happy to indulge those who are interested.
We still have a lot of finishing touches to add, but we are very happy with the direction the design has taken. We hope you all like it and we’re looking forward to sharing the testing of it on Testnet with you all in the coming months!
Angel Alliance Participation
Since the conception of Void, we have been huge supporters of Angel Protocol. We love the work they have been doing and the charitable generosity they have inspired. We have always wanted to work alongside them, and we have plans that, unfortunately, we aren’t quite ready to announce. But in the meantime, we decided that a fun way to get involved and take part in the giving spirit would be to hold an auction of an NFT basket, with all proceeds going to Angel Protocol. We will be contributing a number a NFT’s and are looking for partners to contribute. If you know of any NFT projects that might be interested in getting involved, please don’t hesitate to get them in touch with us! :)
Protocol Owned Liquidity
Protocol Owned Liquidity has been a big point of discussion in what seems like every blockchain community, but even more so in Terra. With so many Terra projects looking to offer it as a service, even Olympus DAO seems make strides towards joining the Terra ecosystem.
Here at Void, this conversation has been more alive than ever. It has become quite apparent that POL offers many benefits, and possibly even some extra perks to a protocol structured like Void.
In our eyes, the main bonuses for Void are stability and longevity; stability offered by the DAO owning as much Void liquidity as possible, and locking it for duration (this will include earning yield and other rewards from platforms like Astroport), and longevity, allowing Void to be more bear-market resilient, even giving the DAO the power to provide capital into the Void Anon Pools during times of low TVL.
A topic this complex really deserves its own article, but the point we’re making is that we have decided to implement a version of POL for Void, however we would like to give the community the opportunity to have a say on exactly how this will look. We have a few ideas in mind, but we’d love to hear your thoughts.
